We will celebrate the famous AAPI artist Tyrus Wong by recreating one of his paintings that served as inspiration for the film Bambi at Walt Disney Productions, which he was a background illustrator for. His background paintings for Bambi were inspired by Song dynasty classical Chinese paintings. Students will learn about this inspiring bit of history, plus learn basic watercolor painting techniques to create a painting they can be proud of and display at home!
